Wie auch immer die Farbe der Points ist die Augen sind stehst blau und je dunkler desto besser.

Als Abwandlung gibt es die Grundfarben auch noch als Tortiefarben (mit cremefarbenen Einlagerungen in den Points), in tabbypoint (die Gesichtsmaske weist eine Tabbyzeichnung auf) und in tortie-tabbypoint.

Für alle Farbvarietäten gilt jedoch, daß der Übergang zwischen Abzeichen und der Fellfarbe kontrastreich sein soll.

Die Besonderheit sind natürlich die farbigen Abzeichen - auch Points genannt - im Gesicht, an den Pfoten und am Schwanz, die sich deutlich vom helleren Fell abheben. Verursacht werden die Points durch das sog.

"Masken-Gen". Das freundliche Gesicht mit den faszinierenden Masken wirkt mit den bei Colourpoints weit offenen blauen Augen auf jeden Katzenfreund fesselnd.

Himalayan

The fourteen colors are seal, chocolate, blue.

Lilac, flame red, cream, tortie, chocolate – tortie, blue cream, lilac-cream, seal lynx, blue lynx, tortie lynx, and blue cream lynx point.

Color is restricted to the facial mask and extremities with the body of various shades of white to fawn.

Himalayans were developed by breeding Persians to Siamese to combine the Siamese point coloring with Persian type.

After many years of cross breeding they were approved of accepted color variations of Persian.

All must have deep vivid blue eyes as eyes other than blue are a disqualification.
